Project Manager – Computational Mechanics Center of Competence DRE Siemens Corporate Research and Technologies - Bengaluru

Job Description
In this position, the candidate will lead Computational Mechanics Center of Competency (CoC) being developed as part of the Corporate Research and Technologies. The candidate will also himself/herself work on programs in the area of Flow-Thermals of Combustor for Gas Turbines. Primary role will require the candidate to conduct CFD studies for Combustor and, in addition, will also lead the group. While in the initial phase, the programs will be defined by the internal customer, it is expected that the candidate will also grow the team by working with the key stakeholders and defining a road-map for the Computational Mechanics CoC.
 
Qualification:
Ph.D. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with specialization in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) as applied to Combustion Processes.
 
Experience and Skill set:
• More than 8 years of professional experience (including relevant internships and/or Masters/PhD period) in CFD simulations in area of combustion
• Excellent academic track record, proven scientific achievements
• Experience in analysis of thermal aspects of Gas Turbine Combustors based on numerical simulations with 3-D physics 
• Understanding of combustion processes and combustion modeling
• Understanding of relevant industry trends in Computational Mechanics
• Experience in working with Global teams across various time zones
• Proficiency with OpenFOAM CFD software as also FLUENT/CFx
• Knowledge of state-of-art compute hardware and future trends
 
Knowledge / Competencies:
The candidate should have strong communication and team-working skills to ensure efficient project execution in global environment. Experience in project management on project level or task level is highly desirable.
