Researcher - Computational Chemistry Shell - Bangalore
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Provide capabilities and skills in the newly established Shell Computational Center of Expertise.
Seek out, evaluate, discover, and invent emerging computational technologies which can solve targeted current or future problems in Shell businesses.
Test ideas through the "fastest route to failure" and/or to champion and develop such technologies to the point of organizational commitment.
Engage in the execution of technical projects in the area of computational chemistry, computational materials science including biomaterials and/or computational fluid dynamics.
Contribute to high-end technical deliverables in a group of 10-12 computational scientists and engineers.
Interact with other Shell R&D and business stakeholders in global collaboration projects.
Assist with maintenance and management of a portfolio of internal and external projects on topics in research and technology.
Execute cross business innovative R&D projects.
Responsible for timeliness, quality, innovative content and documentation of work.
Pro-actively build/maintain a national and international network with universities, private and government research institutes, and industrial R&D companies.
Desired Skills & Experience
Requirements:
PhD in Chemistry/Physics/Applied Mathematics/Computer Science or related qualification with atleast 3 yrs of post PhD experience is required.
Experience with electronic structure theory (DFT etc.), molecular dynamics (MD) and/or Monte Carlo (MC), and with applications to problems in chemistry/catalysis and materials including biomaterials science a plus.
Scientific and professional recognition and profile outside Shell via papers, books, teaching, training, professional service, etc. commensurate with level of professional experience.
Excellent communication and change management skills.
Proactive documentation and reporting .
