Director Java Architecture Fidelity Investments Bengaluru
The Purpose of This Role
As a Director, Architecture within the Personal Investing Organization you are responsible for the technical leadership of the Architecture organization in India. You will be expected to work with the center of excellence team, that will advocate for sound application architecture, design and engineering practices that accelerates Personal Investing’s digital strategy.
Articulation of the Future State Architecture via a Narrative document, complemented by a detailed Strategy, which contains all of the relevant Architecture & Design artifacts enabling the business strategy delivering value our customers will recognize. Additionally, it is expected that the proposed Future State Architecture has been validated by a number of high-value proofs-of-concept.
A detailed Collaboration Execution Plan developed & reviewed with the respective Development Team Leader(s), regarding the evolution from the Current to Future State architectures. This plan should contain a Transition Plan, for full enablement of the Squad, in the competencies required to operate within the context of the new architecture.
Collaboration with all other Solution Architects, & the Platform Engineering organization, with respect to the refinement & evolution of the Solutions Architecture Processes & Practices.
Continuous "outside-in" scanning, so as to facilitate continuous learning, hands-on understanding, & adoption of Solutions Architecture industry standard methodologies & techniques.
All Solutions Architecture activities should be practiced within the context of actual Capabilities & Platforms, tactically or strategically significant to the Personal Investing Business Unit’s Digital Business Strategy.

Drive target architecture for various solutions in PI (Personal Investing)
Develop prototypes and spearhead solutions in MVP, iterative approach
Work with multiple squads using Agile/Scrum methodologies
Provide technical expertise as requested by members of various scrum teams.

The Skills that are Key to this role
Technical / Behavioral
15 years of experience in defining application architecture strategies and solutions, and establishing capabilities and patterns
Cloud architecture design, CI/CD pipeline and development
API Management, domain modeling, java services
Application deployment planning, distribution strategies and configuration options

Interact and influence application build teams, located across the US, on modern design principles including cloud, API’s, and application data engineering

Describes key features or products, services, and/or solutions required to be developed by other organizations; advocates and monitors the delivery of the solutions
Strategic technical and architectural guidance to senior management, project team members and functional organizations
Provide thought leadership and influence various organizations that provide solutions including: business unit architecture, enterprise technology, risk/threat mitigation and other organizations
Ability to operationalize architectural designs and solutions into reusable capabilities and patterns
Plan realistic process and solution designs requirements appropriate to identified risk scenarios
Consults and sets standards for platform and application engineering based on a balance of agility, resiliency, performance and cost management
Using IT strategy to drive adoption of solutions and standards
The Skills that are good to have for this role
Business knowledge or propensity to upskill on business knowledge in order to understand and better deliver against the needs of the advisor and their end clients
Strong Platform knowledge and experience
Experience in Java, JavaScript Framework, APIGEE, XML, HTML, Rest API and CSS is a nice to have
Experience working with DevOps tools such as Eclipse, Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins to manage development and auto deployments is preferred.

The Expertise we’re looking for
15+ years of IT experience preferred
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
